Have you ever met someone and felt like you had known them for years?
There is a reason that feeling is so real.
Before your body, before this world, your soul already was.
Allah gathered the children of Adam and asked, “Am I not your Lord?” They said, “Yes, we testify.”
QURAN 7:172
The Prophet ﷺ told us something about souls.
“Souls are troops gathered together.”
“Those that knew each other are drawn together,”
“and those that did not, drift apart.”
SAHIH MUSLIM 2638
So when your heart feels at peace with someone before you even know why, it may be that your souls already knew each other.
The friend you can sit with in silence, and it never feels empty.
The sister you met once at the masjid, and you still make du’a for her.
And when someone never clicks, that is not a failure in you. Be kind to them anyway.
And if life has put distance between you, hold on to this.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “A person will be with those they love.”
SAHIH AL-BUKHARI 6168
So love them for Allah’s sake, and keep them in your du’a.
